Katrina Burchell Bio Image

Katrina Burchell is CEO of The Pernicious Anaemia Society and Chair of the B12 Alliance.

Like so many, Katrina had a long journey to diagnosis and proper treatment and has been lobbying for better awareness, better doctor education and more patient benefitting research since her involvement with PAS and CluB-12, Katrina shared her personal story last year ‘I thought my brain fog was dementia until I discovered it was a vitamin deficiency’ and it is a story that will resonate with many.

Whilst patient and clinician education and awareness is key to patients getting the help and support they need, there is also an important underlying need for research in so many areas to help those with B12 deficiency, whatever the reason for the cause. In this talk Katrina will explain what research has so far done to move things forward and, on occasion , hold things back; what is currently in the pipeline; and which areas are important for funding in the future.
